Instapaper - Read it Later
If you utilize an RSS reader frequently the Instapaper service is indispensable because, as the NYT tells it, “There is always one more link to click … because the Internet never ends.”
When you find an article that’s interesting but the length is daunting or you don’t have the time while you’re “foraging” for information, use the Read it Later...

Google Latitude Default Location Settings
The new Latitude app has a default setting that’s guaranteed to run down your iPhone’s battery. The optional Background Updating is set to On when you install the app. With the Location Reporting set to Detect Your Location (another default) after you close the app it will continue to show the little triangle at the top of your iPhone, which means that GPS is running in the background....
Flipboard Missed the Mark with Google Reader
Tomorrow’s post on my regular blog, vLatte Tech Life will reveal a serious deficiency in the Google Reader update to Flipboard. I’m not sure how they missed this, but anybody who spends a good deal of time with a Google Reader client will recognize the problem.

Just got my new Evernote upgrade for my Mac and didn’t realize I’d already shared a notebook with my wife. Also the Windows version is out too.

Apple TV Software Upgrade
The new software update to Apple TV fixed a problem that was bugging me to death. And that was, when streaming an iTunes music playlist from my computer the song order was always alphabetical, instead of the order that I’d painstakingly devised.
Glad to see they finally got this fixed.
Reeder for Mac Software Update Again
The updates are coming fast and furious, Draft 4 is now out for Reeder for Mac desktop program. Two great features were added.
Swipe gesture support 3-finger for trackpad, 2-finger for Magic Mouse.
Confirmation for “Mark all as read” can be disabled
Gotta love it!
Reader for iPad Software Update
There are three new items, all of interest:
New article list slider options: Slide to left “Send to Instapaper” or “Send to ReadItLater” (see Settings.app > Reeder > article list)
Default recipient addresses for sharing via e-mail (see Settings.app >Reeder > accounts)
Confirmation for “Mark all as read” can now be disabled (see Settings.app >...
Apps that Know My Location
Find out which apps have requested your location in the last 24 hours. On your iOS device go to Settings>General>Location Services.
Reeder for Mac Software Draft 3 is Out
Another Reeder for Mac software update was pushed out. Draft 4 added basic filtering/search, activity indicator for sharing (???) and some keyboard shortcut documentation that looks to be useful.
AnalyticsPro App for iPad Updated
This great app just got better with version 1.1 released on Dec 4th.
Here’s what’s new:
Export data to Text and PDF file (60 different reports)
Print Reports directly to an AirPrint printer on a wireless network (iOS 4.2 required)

Name Change for Blog and Twitter
After 13 months of blogging I’ve decided to make some changes and rename my vlatte.net blog to vLatte Tech Life, and my tag line to: A resource for your cyber-trek through the information age, which is explained on the About page.
And to keep things consistent my Twitter name has changed to, you guessed it, vLatteTechLife.
Reeder for Mac Updates Software
I recently started using Reeder for Mac, the Beta version, and like it very much. The big thing for me is having automatic refresh set for 15 minutes and tight integration with social sharing, like Twitter, Facebook and Instapaper.
Friday I received a software update that goes from Draft 1 (Beta) to Draft 2. The picture below shows the changes and new settings.

Apple TV Software Upgrade Changes
One good thing about the Apple TV software upgrade that was released with iOS 4.2 is they fixed an annoying problem of having all the iTunes playlists from your computer sorted in alphabetical order.
