Settings to Change in Finder
I’m relatively new to Macs and still using a Windows computer so it took me some time to figure out I needed to change a couple of preferences in Finder to make my life a little easier. The first is to have Finder open in the directory folder I want, and not settle for the default setting. Open Finder, then choose Finder > Preferences, select the General tab, and select the folder you...

Thanks Rob ( @Podcast411 ) My Thoughts Exactly →
I read the NYT article and thought “this guy is way-off-base and seriously biased.” Not enough room in the comments to respond. So Rob Walsh took him to task in this blog post. Go Rob!

Latest Version of FileZilla is Not Working For Me
I love FileZilla, but the recent update, version 3.3.5.1. has something wrong with it and I couldn’t connect to any of my websites. Luckily I saved the earlier version 3.3.5 in the Downloads folder and was happily surprised when it asked if I wanted to downgrade, then proceeded to do just that and my problem is solved. I hope they get things straightened out.

Watch NBA Game Recap Video on the iPad
The NBA Game Time Courtside app for the iPad is free and allows you to watch NBA game recap videos if you have subscription to NBA League Pass Mobile. Just select a previous game, tap the TV icon, and tap Recap to start the video. It’s kinda small when you consider the iPads screen, but the video is usually of decent length.

No Searching when Creating a Playlist on the iPad
You can create a Playlist from your iPad by tapping the (+) plus sign in the lower-left corner of the iPod app screen and giving it a name. My problem starts when adding songs to the playlist because you have to scroll to find each song. The search box doesn’t seem to work. Come on Apple, lets put this on the list of things to fix in the next iOS update.

Deter a Thief from Disabling the Find My iPhone...
The Today in iOS podcast had a nice tip regarding how to foil a thief from disabling the Find My iPhone feature. Setting restrictions on Location and Account with a four-digit passcode will slow down a savvy thief. From the Settings app, choose General > Restrictions, then tap Enable Restrictions. Enter a four-digit passcode, then reenter the passcode. Turn Location OFF Turn Accounts OFF ...
